Celeste High School honored all who served at a Veterans Day breakfast and program on November 11, 2024. Celeste Beta Club, FFA, and the junior high school student council joined together to commemorate this special day to pay tribute to those who had sacrificed so much.
The highlight of the program was a compelling speech delivered by high school history teacher, Joshua Rogers. He shared moving stories of Celeste veterans from World War I and World War II showcasing the research conducted by his students. These stories emphasized the bravery of these individuals and also connected the students to their community’s history. Following Mr. Roger’s speech, celebrating the spirit of patriotism and unity, the Celeste Devillette’s and cheerleaders performed a dance routine to Neil Diamond’s America.
The program concluded with a tribute to America’s White Table, a symbol that originated during the time of the Vietnam War to honor service members fallen, missing or held captive in the line of duty. The memorable event was a powerful reminder of the bravery, dedication and sacrifices made by our veterans.
