The State Fair of Texas has ended for another year, and Celeste FFA left a mark with all the member participation in livestock and leadership events. Lexi Whittaker and Myles Carlile kicked off the fair by exhibiting their broilers in the Market Broiler Show. 70 Celeste FFA members attended the Ag Awareness event where students donated over 60 pounds of canned goods to the North Texas Food Bank. Next, Linda Beth Norwood exhibited her Havana Breeding rabbit and won Best of Variety and Best of Breed at the Youth and Open Breeding Rabbit shows. Linda Beth also advanced to the semi-final round in the in the Job Interview Contest. Myles Carlile showed in the open Santa Gertrudis show, and Ben Mackey showed his Shorthorn bulls and won two Reserve Division champion titles. The Wool Judging team of Linda Beth Norwood, Peyton Wright, Lexi Whittaker and Karlie Williams closed out the State Fair with a fourth-place win, and Linda Beth Norwood was 2nd High Individual in the contest. All four of the wool judging team members finished in the top 50!
