Members of Boys Powerlifting Team Advance to State

Celeste High School was represented by 11 powerlifters at the Regional Meet on March 5, 2022 at Malakoff High School.  “This is the first year of the separate Division 4 (1A/2A schools), so all top lifts this year were regional records, which allowed our lifters to set the standard for future years.  At the end of the day, we had 2 state qualifiers, 4 top five finishers, 5 regional records, and the boys tied for 3rd in team points out of 27 schools,” stated head powerlifting coach, Blair Elliott.  Erick Orduna and Tanner Meeks advanced to the State Powerlifting Meet which will be held in Abilene, Texas on March 25 at the Taylor County Expo Center.  The results from the regional meet are as follows:  Julian Olivares (8th, record bench), Tanner Meeks (2nd, state qualifier), Nolan Blackmon (4th), Erick Orduna (1st, regional champion and state qualifier), Jerret Stone (3rd, record bench), Aiden Giles (10th), Jackson Almand (9th), Cash Ottwell (9th), Wyatt Noack (6th), Coach Blair Elliott, Chandler Henslee (7th), Nick Michka (7th)
