1st Grade Kid Biz Entrepreneurs

Celeste Elementary first graders are learning about money and entrepreneurship.  These young entrepreneurs (a.k.a. known as Kid Biz) have been working on a math project that involved counting money, brainstorming ideas, marketing and managing their income.  The students were given a choice to create a handmade product or bring in a pre-made item to sell in the First Grade Christmas Store.  Next, the students had to determine what their item should cost.  After marketing and selling their item, the students were able to shop in the store with the money they had raised.  Overall, the students had a great time learning about basic math, transactions and necessary life skills.
