Celeste Elementary Celebrates Reading and Writing

Reading and Writing Day Photos

Celeste Elementary closed the school year with a celebration of reading and writing.  To begin, several 4th and 5th graders read six hours this semester to earn Free Six Flags tickets in the 2018 Read to Succeed Program.  The following students were recognized for this big accomplishment:  Kaleb Adams, Addison Kampwerth, Kennedy Adamson, Riley Beard, Quentin Campbell, Nevaeh Cannon, Erin Griffis, Sarah Hawkins, Brailyn Hise, Miles Lamm, Lauren Tenney, Connor Thomas, and Aric Timberlake.  We would like to congratulate all these students and wish them fun at Six Flags this summer.

Reading Day

Celeste Elementary designated May 23, 2018 as Reading/Writing Day.  During Reading/Writing Day, Celeste graduate Bailee Carter, Celeste ISD School Board President Chris Barnard, Coach Demetrius Rector and many other community members volunteered to come and read their favorite books to classes.  Also, Mrs. Gatliff’s Pre-kindergarten celebrated being published writers and illustrators. The students autographed and displayed their newly published alphabet books on Reading/Writing day.
