Painting by Misty Nixon - Senior 2011 AP Art Student

What inspires Misty Nixon to paint such extraordinary scenes? 

“I enjoy using oil paint over acrylic because of its superior blending qualities. It was a challenge to create the reflective surfaces in this picture.  The thick glossy nature of oil was the perfect media to portrait the illusion of a wet street scene."

Make plans to attend the CHS art walk (6:30-8:30) on March 29, 2011. Student art such as abstract, charcoal, graphite, scratch art, landscape, portrait, still life and sculptures will be on display.
