CHS CLASS OF 2013 VAL AND SAL

Celeste ISD congratulates the Class of 2013 Valedictorian Grace Nix and Salutatorian Carly Collida!

Grace Nix, daughter of Kyle and Sheryl Nix, is Valedictorian of Celeste High School with a GPA of 99.898. Her accomplishments include Yearbook Co-Editor, Beta Club President, first place in the National Beta Club Graphic Design Contest, and Top Student awards in Honors English, Algebra, Geometry, Anatomy and Physiology, Pre-Calculus, Physics, Biology, Digital Graphics, World History, and Chemistry. She was voted Most Likely to Succeed by her peers. Grace has also been an active member in the youth group at Johnson Street Church of Christ. Her involvement includes Leadership Training for Christ, mission trips, volunteering as a counselor at the Northeast Texas Kids’ camp, and co-directing the first annual teen-led Girls Day at her congregation. Grace will be attending Oklahoma Christian University this fall.

Carly Collida, daughter of Steve and JoAnna Collida, is Salutatorian of Celeste High School with a GPA of 98.666. Her accomplishments include Dance Team Lieutenant, Yearbook Co-Editor, Beta Club Vice President, FCA Officer, Cross Country All-State Academic Team, Basketball All-District Academic Team, Spanish Top Student, Art Top Student and Speech Top Student. Carly is also an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She is on the leadership team, youth choir, youth handbell choir, and mission team. She is also active within the Methodist Church as part of the North Texas Conference’s Conference Council on Youth Ministries’ team as well as being the East District Youth Lay Leader. Carly will be attending The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor this fall.
